In the event of a severe pandemic, we will work directly with the Oakland County Health Division (OCHD) to help determine how and when it is appropriate to close schools  - there is no fixed rule. If school is in session with fewer than 75% of students in attendance district-wide, there is a financial penalty unless the district chooses to make up the instructional time lost.  While the number of days are not critical, meeting the required number of instructional hours is in determining time to be made up at the end of the school year. If we decide to dismiss all students at a school or district, we will immediately notify the Oakland County Health Division, MDE and CDC.
